The waters surrounding the Ucluth Peninsula offer some of the best salt water fishing in the Pacific Northwest and are rich in fishing history and culture.
The ocean is full of nutrients which attract Chinook, Coho and Sockeye Salmon to the area. Halibut can be reeled in at some of the offshore banks and the shallow waters are excellent for fishing ling cod, red snapper and several species of rockfish.
Crab traps can be dropped in the Ucluelet Harbour and shellfish can also be harvested nearby. Be sure to check with DFO regarding restrictions, limits and closings due to harmful algae blooms in the area.
Ucluelet has full service marinas with moorage available as well as tackle and supply shops. Fishing Licenses are required and can be purchased at various locations throughout Ucluelet.
